Civil Engineer Job Overview
Conduct site appraisals and feasibility assessments. Prepare comprehensive pre-planning reports, including Flood Risk Assessments and Utility Assessments. Design and manage drainage systems, including remedial works and SuDS. Create detailed designs for tendering and construction phases. Develop and oversee highway designs for local authorities and private developments (S38/S184/S278). Serve as an Expert Witness when required. Manage road, sewer, and SuDS adoption processes. Provide technical support for planning applications and advise during pre-application stages. Act as the Client's Representative and manage contracts effectively. Perform earthworks modeling to support project requirements.
Civil Engineer Job Requirements
BSc or BEng qualified within a Civil Engineering discipline. Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in Civil Engineering design consultancy. Experience of Highways and Drainage Design. Knowledge of Road and Sewer / SuDS Adoption. Knowledge of a range of Civil engineering software. An ability to communicate effectively, writing clear and concise emails, letters and reports. Commercial awareness.
