Job Title: Civil Engineer / Senior Technician – Cambridge based Consultancy (Full Remote Working) About us Civilistix is a rapidly growing, modern civil engineering consultancy which specializes in planning services, highway engineering, and drainage engineering. At Civilistix, we work with our clients at all stages of the development process, preparing outline planning reports such as flood risk assessments, drainage strategies, and highway feasibility studies to providing fully detailed highway and drainage adoption packages. Job Description As an experienced Civil Engineer or Senior Design Technician, you will be part of our dynamic team specializing in highway and drainage projects, drafting pre-planning reports such as flood risk assessments and more. You will have a great work/life balance with a fully remote working environment, a competitive package, and an attractive 25 days leave (plus public holidays). Requirements: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a UK consultancy office, specifically in highway and drainage design. Strong written and oral communication skills in English with a technical mindset. Ability to work on projects of all sizes. Ability to work fully autonomously and check own work as required. We are looking for an open-minded, team player with a can-do attitude! Key Responsibilities include: Preparation of compliant surface water and sustainable urban drainage strategy reports to support planning applications. Preparation of compliant flood risk assessment reports to support planning applications. Preparation of compliant private and adoptable (S104 of the Water Industry Act 1991) drainage designs for technical approval and construction. Preparation of compliant private and adoptable (S38 / S278 of the Highways Act 1980) highway designs for technical approval and construction. Undertake dialogue, correspondence, and negotiation with relevant third-party stakeholders in relation to obtaining drainage and highway consents and approvals. Undertake AutoCAD and 3D drafting/modelling in relation to highway and drainage projects efficiently and timely. Attending site and design team meetings as necessary to support projects. Obtaining third-party quotations, advice, and input as necessary to support projects. Qualifications/Software Skills: Competent and highly efficient in the use of AutoCAD. Competent in the use of all Microsoft Office 365 – including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Will ideally hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related subject. Site 3D / Causeway Flow experience would be advantageous. A member of the Institute of Civil Engineers would be advantageous. Would you like to join our team?
