You’ll be responsible for assisting with the design buildability, coordination, and management of a number of works contractors employed in a variety of trades within the respective area of works. The role requires a high level of interfacing between internal departments and external agencies, such as Engineers, Construction Workers, Works Contractors, Client Representatives, Clerk of Works, and Site Staff. Co-ordination and management of various Works Contractors will be key to ensuring the success of the project. You’ll also organise and conduct regular site progress meetings with various works contractors to monitor progress, quality, and safety, ensuring the Chief Engineer and Project Manager are updated on all issues. Key packages areas of works will be Earthworks & Substructures with a focus on setting out. Ideally, you will: Main contractor construction experience Have a degree in civil engineering or heavy construction engineering Must be a Team Player Must be hands-on with a “can do attitude” Will be site-based working as a key project team member IT Proficiency a must Have the ability to prepare a 3 week look-ahead programme with the assistance of the project planner Have proven working experience on a construction site environment Be knowledgeable of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards Have or be working towards a construction industry related Professional membership (e.g ICE, CIOB, RICS, ICE, CIBSE, IStructE, etc) Ideally located in South Wales within daily travelling distance of Port Talbot Rewards
