Reference : CG304 Sector : Civil & Structural Engineering, Transport Infrastructure Access Talent Group is currently searching for a Civil or Senior Civil Engineer for an office in Derby, Midlands to work for an exciting new client. Our client is an SME with three offices based in the Midlands and is looking to strengthen their Development Infrastructure team. They work on a range of schemes including development, museums, large commercial shopping centres, and river restoration. This consultancy has been operating since 1975 and has built a great reputation with new and existing clients across the UK. You will work well with the existing team or lead the engineers and graduates to develop them further in their careers with training and software development. You will need: Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent At least 8 years post-qualification experience in civil and structural engineering Full UK driving license and own transport Chartered or near-chartered status with a relevant body (MICE or MIStruct) THE RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing high-quality concept, preliminary and detailed technical design on projects requiring highway and drainage design. Carrying out a range of drainage calculations, including QBar, attenuation storage, soakaway sizing, foul loads, pipeline capacities and network analysis for various drainage applications. Carrying out a range of adoptable and non-adoptable highway, driveway car parking, and footpath structural pavement designs for permeable and non-permeable surfaces. Preparing Developer Enquiries, Environment Agency product requests, and LLFA information requests related to drainage designs, flood risk assessments, and drainage strategies. Preparing S104, S106, and S185 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Drainage Authority and Planning Authority. Preparing S184, S278, and S38 application forms and associated packages for submission to the Highway Authority. Report writing, e.g., Transport Statements, Travel Plans, Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategy Reports, etc. Ensuring that projects are undertaken within the specified budget and timeframes. Management of sustainability criteria. Complying with designers’ duties under the CDM Regulations. Supervising the CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers on technical/construction details and undertaking QA reviews. Selling, marketing, and business development of existing clients and being alert to new leads.
