The role As a Civil Structural Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Your role will include providing support to DA Senior B&C Engineer and DA Manager in conducting inspections on the building and civil engineering aspects of Nuclear Safety Implicated (NSI) and non-NSI facilities across the site. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and maintaining the design intent of all systems to ensure they are safe to operate from a design perspective whilst optimising the client’s investment. Assist the TCA Senior Engineer and TCA Manager in maximising the utilisation and efficiency of all the section’s resources. Implementation of the Company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies in the NSI Engineering area of the business ensuring that assessments of risks are carried out which lead to safe working attitudes and practices. (AC17) Assess and evaluate findings from inspections taking appropriate action to manage defects and/or any additional work to maintain the integrity of the facilities. Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and ensuring that in and underwater inspections are conducted in accordance with requisite timescales. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and will be based at our Faslane site. The position includes hybrid working with 2 days per week spent on site (during inspections) and 3 days from home and reduced hours on a Friday. Essential experience of the Civil Structural Engineer Knowledge of Building and Civil Engineering. Planning procedures and processes experience. Maintenance management & Diving procedures and processes experience. Chartered Engineer – or working towards - is desirable but not essential. Qualifications for the Civil Structural Engineer Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is desirable. Minimum of HND in engineering discipline essential. Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
