Civil Structural Engineers (Water industry, Energy, Renewables or Environmental Services)

Location: South West/Midlands/North England (remote working with frequent visits to offices and client sites)

Salary: £40,000-80,000 dependant upon experience+ great career opportunities

We are seeking a number of talented Civil Structural Engineers at all levels with expertise in designing and analysing civil structures, particularly within the water industry, energy, renewables, highways or infrastructure sectors, ideally in a consultancy setting. The role:

Apply knowledge and experience independently or while supervising a team.

Be responsible for projects and programmes of work within the consultancy particularly in design.

Responsibility for client relationships and creating long term relationships and collaborations

Perform technical design and analysis for new and existing steel and concrete structures using appropriate software and guidelines.

Collaborate with internal and external teams to lead project delivery.

Lead quality, sustainability, and safety initiatives throughout the design and asset lifecycle.

Preparing project briefs, scopes of work, and bid proposals.

Manage time and budgets to meet project milestones and schedules.

Contribute to personal and professional growth, as well as the development of colleagues.

The person:

Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Ideally chartered or working towards

Chartered Engineer, member of IStructE or ICE.

Minimum 2+ years post graduate experience to Senior Civil Engineers with expertise in designing and analysing civil structures, particularly within the water, energy, renewables, highways or infrastructure sectors ideally in a consultancy setting

Knowledge of structural engineering codes (Eurocodes, BSI, etc.).

Extensive experience in reinforced concrete (RC) design, including water and soil retaining structures and foundations.

Experience in steelwork design.

Understanding of geotechnics and soil-structure interactions.

Experience in the water/utilities sector is an advantage.

Ability to prepare, review, and approve structural designs.

Proficiency in computational analysis techniques and software; knowledge of BIM is a plus.

Ability to inspect, diagnose, and recommend re-use or adaptation of existing structures.

Knowledge of construction techniques.

Commitment to sustainability, including re-use of structures and low carbon design.

Experience in project and business management, including resource planning and fee estimation.

Understanding of cost and contract management is an advantage.

Ownership and leadership in growing the company’s capability.

Collaborative team player with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Client-facing with strong relationship-building skills.

Excellent communicator, able to explain complex concepts to various audiences.

Supportive and mentoring attitude towards colleagues.
