We are looking to recruit a dynamic, organised and enthusiastic Civilian Medical Practitioner who will be working within our Primary Healthcare team. This post is located at Cranwell Medical Centre, RAF Cranwell, NG34 8HB, however, you will be required to provide cover at other facilities within the Lincs Combined Practice (Waddington & Coningsby) as required by business needs. The successful postholder will provide primary and occupational Healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards to ensure that the organisational and Principal/Senior Medical Officer's objectives are achieved to optimise patient care. Job responsibilities
Duties of the role include, but are not limited to: Providing general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours. Undertaking mandatory medical examinations and providing appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, along with all supporting administrative duties. Providing primary care emergency treatment to any patient who may require this within the Establishment. Appropriately supervising the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains. Representing the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) on Medical Practice related issues where necessary, including participation in unit health committees where appropriate. Selection Process The selection at sift stage will be based on your CV. At interview, you will be tested against the following Behaviours: Leadership Changing and Improving Communicating and Influencing Working together Managing a Quality Service Making Effective Decisions The sift will be completed within 5 working days of the vacancy closing date. Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed. All employees joining the Ministry of Defence who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a 6-month probation period (unless otherwise advised) effective from the employment start date. Successful candidates must meet the security requirements before they can be appointed. The level of security needed is security check. Please note the salary will be pro-rata where part-time hours are undertaken. If found successful for this position, you will be required to provide evidence of your immunity to Hepatitis B. Failure to provide evidence of your immunity may result in the offer of employment being withdrawn. Certificate of Prescribed Equivalent Experience or Statement of Acquired Rights (now known as CCT) from the Joint Committee in Post Graduate Training in General Practice (JCPGT(GP)). Post Graduate Training Certificate in General Practice and a Certificate of General Practice Vocational Training (GPVT). Holding a current Licence to practice. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
