The successful candidate will provide primary and occupational healthcare in line with General Medical Council (GMC) Standards to ensure that the organisational and Principal/Senior Medical Officer's (PMO/SMO) objectives are achieved to optimise patient care. Job responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to: Provide general healthcare to all registered patients during normal practice hours. Provide primary care emergency treatment to any patient who may require this within the Establishment. Maximise the levels of health, wellbeing and employability of Service personnel to ensure the needs of the single Services are met. Undertake mandatory medical examinations and provide appropriate occupational healthcare and advice, and all supporting administrative duties. Appropriately supervise the management of communicable diseases, including monitoring and reporting through single Service chains. Provide emergency treatment and accident reporting for Ministry of Defence (MOD) civilian staff. Liaise with the practice manager (PM) on all matters of service administration. Be familiar with relevant major incident and infectious disease outbreak plans. Have a working knowledge of and be actively involved in clinical governance.
