Role Summary

A civil infrastructure engineer is sought to join a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy based in Leicester. With a team of 18 in Leicester and an additional 20-person team in Birmingham, the firm is expanding and looking for an ambitious civil engineer to enhance and lead projects in the civil infrastructure design space, particularly in the residential and commercial sector.

Responsibilities

The role covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities that highlight both technical and managerial skills, including: Technical Design:

Creating detailed designs for roads, drainage, and earthworks using specialized software (MicroDrainage, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, etc.). Technical Approvals:

Managing adoption technical approvals (S38, S278, etc.) with local authorities. Team Leadership:

Overseeing junior team members to ensure project milestones are met. Regulatory and Strategic Planning:

Preparing flood risk assessments, drainage strategies, and liaising with regulatory bodies on environmental and engineering issues.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Professional Certification:

Candidates should ideally be chartered (CEng) or hold relevant memberships (MICE, CMIHT, CIWEM). Experience:

Demonstrated expertise in development engineering, ideally in residential projects, and an ability to lead a team. Business Development:

The role includes developing client relationships and generating new business, aligning with the company's expansion goals. Experience:

Ideally someone with 2-3 years minimum relevant experience.
