The Civil Design Engineer will play a crucial role in developing and implementing engineering designs within their specified discipline (Civil). They will contribute to projects from the conceptual phase through to detail design development and implementation, ensuring all designs meet client specifications and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop and engineer detailed designs for your discipline in line with project requirements and company standards (e.g., developing mechanical systems, electrical layouts, communication networks, or civil structures). Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure the integration of engineering solutions (e.g., interdisciplinary reviews, integrated design reviews). Conduct concept designs and assessments for proposed engineering projects. Utilise design software to create technical drawings and 3D models, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ETAP, etc. Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, standards, and safety requirements. Participate in project meetings and provide technical insights and updates as required. Review and improve existing engineering processes and designs, incorporating innovation and sustainability into every project. Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure design specifications and requirements are met. Prepare and present design documentation, including detailed reports, calculations, and design justifications. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (in your discipline). Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a Design Engineer in the relevant discipline, ideally within the rail, transport, or housing sectors. Strong proficiency with engineering design software (relevant to the discipline). Excellent technical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Desirable: Master's degree in a relevant engineering field. Professional Engineering (PE) certification or working towards it. Experience with sustainable design practices and innovations in engineering.
