Distribution - UK Wholesale

Purpose:

To work as part of the UK Distribution team to generate sales of GAM fund products to a range of potential intermediary clients (for e.g. financial advisors, wealth managers, discretionary fund managers, investment/multi-managers, family offices and UK domiciled private banks) within the UK and associated territorial regions (such as the Channel Islands, the IoM and Ireland). To be responsible for generating own sales and meet or exceed individual annual sales targets, as agreed with line manager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Identifying and engaging with qualified prospects in the wholesale space to promote the GAM product set and increase assets under management in the UK.

Develop and execute a sales plan for your region and directly contribute to growth targets of the UK Distribution Team.

Preparation of acquisition and retention activities, periodic client reports, handling of client requests and other administrative tasks relating to the Sales function represent an integral part of this job profile.

Become fluent in GAM’s strategy range and be able to represent both traditional and alternative strategies to sophisticated investors.

Working with key influencers such as platforms and asset consultants.

Organising events including roundtables and road shows and maintaining the CRM and relevant distribution lists.

Maintain good working relationships with other business areas within GAM, in particular with Investment Management, Marketing, Legal & Compliance and Client Services. Exchange information to the benefit of the business and sales generation.

Co-ordinate and support marketing efforts that singularly or collectively lead to measurable sales generation.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum 5 years relevant experience in asset management.

Understanding of the UK Client base across wealth managers, IFAs, Family Offices and Private Banks, including knowledge of or relationships with the key people to liaise with in their research teams.

Knowledgeable about a wide range of investment products attractive to clients, with a good understanding of alternative investments.

Knowledgeable of Liquid, semi-liquid and long-term lock up investment strategies with an ability to map clients to GAM products.

Qualifications such as the IMC or CFA are highly regarded.

Personal Attributes:

Have a proven track record of successfully planning, organising and implementing a distribution strategy.

Have a skill set which enables you to identify, engage and sell a wide range of investment funds to the UK wholesale space in London and outside.

Acts with integrity and within professional, ethical and legal boundaries in both the spirit and letter of GAM’s principles, policies and procedures.

Adapts readily to change and demonstrates accountability for own behaviour.

Strong communication skills (both written and verbal). Communicates constructively, engages with others positively and readily shares information and ideas.

Seeks out insightful, smart ideas to raise personal and team standards. Is seen as a proactive, ‘can-do’ individual who consistently delivers on commitments made.

Possess strong client relationship management skills and an excellent team player.

Ability to achieve operational goals and to work well under the pressure of tight deadlines.
