Job summary

Clinical Associate Psychologist - At Risk Mental State (ARMS) Service We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and qualified Clinical Associate Psychologist who has completed the 2 years Masters to work within the HYPED (Hampshire and Isle of Wight Early Detection) Service. The HYPED Service is a new and exciting service that works with individuals from the age of 14-35 who may be at high risk of developing psychosis (referred to as At Risk Mental State; ARMS). The HYPED service offers comprehensive assessment, up to two years of key working, and holistic psychological and psychosocial interventions. This input can prevent the development of psychosis and can improve recovery and quality of life outcomes of people with unusual experiences. The HYPED service is a psychologically staffed service and is embedded within an existing Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team. The post holder will join an Applied Psychologist / CBT Therapist and a Service Manager in the local Mid and North team, with close working relationships with the other HYPED teams across the trust and the Principal Clinical Psychologist ARMS Lead. We are an enthusiastic and supportive service who work creatively to support our clients and each other as we develop this new service. Main duties, tasks & skills required

To communicate constructively with a range of healthcare professionals in a variety of services including nurses, social workers, allied health professionals (AHPs) and medical colleagues as part of a multi-professional team. Link directly with the psychology team, alongside assistant psychologists and trainee clinical psychologists, while reporting to a Clinical Psychologist regarding psychological assessment, formulation and intervention. Build relationships with professionals in schools, probation services, the police and the courts, depending upon the appropriate training and supervised clinical practice delivered as part of their apprenticeship. Work as part of a multi-professional community team or in specialised clinical settings and liaise with relevant external agencies to facilitate and enable psychological interventions. Communicate new learning approaches and provide constructive feedback to challenge and overcome barriers to implementation of best psychological practice. Provide training for others to inform and support psychological models of change and interventions. Provide training within teams to enhance delivery of clinical and research practice interventions appropriate to the health and psychological needs of patients across a range of service settings. First degree in Psychology Demonstrate study at masters level (120 credits) Registered as appropriate with the BPS Disclosure and Barring Service Check
