Come and join our team at Parexel's Early Phase Clinical Unit in Harrow as a Clinical Catering Assistant.

This is a BANK role offering flexible shifts with up to 37.5 hours per week; rotational shifts include weekends.

Our Early Phase Unit is located in Northwick Park Hospital and is staffed around the clock by our highly trained and certified team. It features state-of-the-art monitoring technologies and offers our clinical trial participants a safe and comfortable environment for medical care. Our first-in-human study premises offer recreational facilities for the participants, a screening department, wards, a laboratory, and a pharmacy.

The main purpose of the Job is to distribute food and beverages to clinical trial participants and to maintain the catering area.

Job Responsibilities:

Providing meals to participants Coordination and ordering food from caterer for volunteers in cooperation with the study team Distribute food and beverages to trial participants according to study protocol and internal requirements Supervise volunteers during mealtimes, assisting them with catering requirements as required Ensuring menus have macro-nutrients checked by the Dietician Following study protocol Ensure that the meals are correct (ingredients and macro-nutrients) and distributed as per protocol time Document meal and beverage start and stop times when required by a study Document beverages distribution times and provided volumes as per source data agreement Weigh food before and after when demanded by the study protocol Estimate percentage consumption when required by protocol Maintaining catering area Store food and beverages according to individual storage requirements Perform quality controls on expiry dates of stored food and drinks Clean and maintain kitchen and equipment Maintain stock Oversee staff kitchen areas and maintain stock levels as required Unit support Hospitality set-up and oversee food orders Other tasks in the opinion of the manager and need of the EPCU Skills & Experience: Experience in restaurant or canteen work or equivalent Basic English knowledge Computer skills (Windows Office) Ability to work under pressure and multitask during higher workload times Ability to work in shifts (early, late) Ability to work on weekends and holidays Good communication skills To handle and operate the dishwasher, the heated catering trolley ovens, the kitchen ovens, and other machinery as and when required with health and safety in mind Education: A secondary school qualification.
