We are looking to recruit 2 Clinical Coders to join our positive & progressive Coding team. Band 5 ACC or Band 4 experienced Coder with additional 15% R&R premium applicable to both pay bands (reviewed annually). 1 full time and 1 part time position, hours flexible to suit the right candidate 22.5-30hrs/week. If you have the relevant practical Clinical Coding experience from within an acute NHS Trust setting using ICD10 and OPCS4.10 classifications we would love to hear from you. The right candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic, have strong interpersonal skills, extensive knowledge of coding standards, rules and conventions, anatomy, physiology and medical terminology, with NHS cross-specialty clinical coding experience. You will play a key role in continual coding improvement across the department and Trust, support mentoring less experienced staff, engage with clinicians alongside having a realistic coding workload while maintaining high coding standards. The ability to manage your own workload and work as part of the wider team are essential to the role with the expectation of working to departmental and national deadlines. If you don't have your ACC status but have demonstrable NHS cross-specialty Coding experience we would be happy to work with you, and our qualified Trainer will support you to work towards attaining your NCCQ. Main duties of the job

Responsibility for providing an accurate, timely and consistent clinical coding service to support the business needs of the Trust in line with departmental and national deadlines. Analyse, interpret and abstract relevant information (including complex conditions and treatments) from the patients' medical record using ICD10 and OPCS Classifications adhering to national and local standards. To provide accurate information to support Healthcare Resource Groups in facilitating the Payment by Results process within the NHS. Mentor less experienced and trainee clinical coders. Responsibility for engaging with external stakeholders including clinical and administrative staff to resolve queries and ensure high accuracy of clinical coding. Maintain accuracy while working under pressure to meet deadlines. The recruitment process will include a practical coding assessment. Previous applicants need not apply. Qualifications

Accredited Clinical Coding Qualification Successful completion of national clinical coding standards course or refresher course within the last 3 years Ongoing learning and development aspirations Qualifications or training in Biology/Human Biology or Basic Physiology and Anatomy. Experience

Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy & physiology Knowledge of Healthcare Resource Groups (HRGs) Knowledge of electronic patient records systems, e.g. MEDITECH Knowledge in using electronic coding software, e.g. Medicode 360 Solventum Knowledge of Clinical Coding policies and procedures Knowledge of Payment by Results (PbR) Elective Recovery Fund (ERF) Knowledge of SNOMED CT Knowledge of Other hospital databases e.g. Datix Disclosure and Barring Service Check
