Job summary

Hywel Dda University Health Board is looking to recruit a full-time, permanent Clinical Coding Clerk to join our existing team at Glangwili Hospital, Carmarthen.

Main duties of the job

Working as part of the clinical coding team, the post holder will be expected to carry out various clerking duties, including the retrieval and tracking of patient case notes, while helping maintain an efficient and high-quality clinical coding service. The post holder will require excellent communication skills, a very positive and flexible approach to work, and enjoy working as part of a busy team. Knowledge of the Welsh patient administration system (PAS) and previous Health Records experience is desirable; however, full training will be provided.

As part of the role, the successful candidate will cover sickness and annual leave for the clerks at any of the other hospital sites in the Health Board.

You will be based in Glangwili Hospital, but there will be a need to travel to all hospital sites across the Health Board.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
