Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5) in Cardiology at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to commence asap until September 2025, with potential to extend for an additional 12 months.
This post has been created to support the middle-grade Cardiology Service and is considered the equivalent of a Specialty Registrar.
The post will provide an exciting opportunity for junior doctors hoping to gain excellent experience in clinical Cardiology within the context of a major UK Teaching Hospital. Previous Clinical Fellows have gone on to successfully gain a National Training Number in Cardiology or have moved on to a Consultant post.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the delivery of the Cardiology Service and may be required to contribute to General (Internal) Medicine on-calls and (subject to experience), the Cardiology StR out of hours on-call rota (1 in 5 to 1 in 8, non-resident).

The following services are provided, with opportunities for experience in all of these areas: Inpatients - 10-bed Coronary Care Unit, with 21-bed step down/general Cardiology ward; Outpatients - daily clinics, including Rapid Access Cardiology, Heart Failure, Cardiac Genetics, Obstetric Cardiology, AF Clinic; non-invasive investigations, including echocardiography (standard and complex) and rhythm monitoring; Catheter laboratory - angiography, permanent pacing, implantation of CRT and ICD devices; Imaging, including nuclear, CT, Cardiac MRI and PET.
