Job overview Clinical Fellow in Head & Neck Imaging (ST 5 or 6) Applications are invited from senior trainees for the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, Clinical Fellow in Head and Neck Imaging. LNWUH is one of the largest tertiary referral centres in London with over 30 ENT and OMFS surgeons. The unit offers a full range of services including head and neck cancer, laryngopharyngectomy, free flap reconstruction, craniofacial resection and reconstruction, tracheal resection, intrathoracic thyroid surgery, voice surgery and the full range of elective rhinology, otology and oral and maxillofacial surgery. The head and neck radiology service has 6 full-time Consultants. The unit provides a full range of diagnostic imaging and a wide range of routine and complex intervention. Interventional services include FNA, core biopsy, salivary intervention and an image-guided complex biopsy (inc. skull base and intra-operative) service. Main duties of the job The post is predominantly based at Northwick Park Hospital. Some cross-site travel may be required as to support the clinical service. On-call registrar service is expected. Participate in the rapid imaging and consultant evaluation (direct-access) suspected H&N cancer patient clinics with other core members of the H&N team. Report and perform a full spectrum of head and neck diagnostic imaging under appropriate supervision. Undertake a full range of routine interventional procedures (FNA/core biopsy) under appropriate supervision. Undertake advanced interventional procedures under appropriate supervision. They will also be expected to join the NPH registrar on-call rota service. Prepare and present cases at the regional H&N cancer MDTs each week. Prepare and present cases at a range of subspecialist H&N clinico-radiological conferences (e.g audiology, OMFS MDTs etc.) Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification. FRCR or equivalent. Full GMC registration and licence to practice. Desirable criteria CCT. Experience Essential criteria Experience in Head and Neck Radiology. Experience in acute (on-call) radiology. Desirable criteria Completion of subspecialty training in Head and Neck Imaging. Functional imaging (NM) including PET imaging. Management Essential criteria Participation in clinical governance and quality improvement. Desirable criteria Experience of leading a quality improvement project.
