Across the Trust, our Endoscopy departments perform a variety of standard and advanced Endoscopic procedures for both out-patients and in-patients including; gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastroscopy (PEG) insertion, oesophageal stenting and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography). Other specialist work is also undertaken by individual consultants. Our departments are presently offer a 7 day service including bank holidays. Our current hours of opening are 8am until 7pm. Main Duties Of This Post
To decontaminate and process endoscopes and other equipment. To assist in the delivery of safe patient care, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. To contribute to the efficient running of the endoscopy unit as directed by the Registered Nurse. To assist in the induction of new staff as directed by the Registered Nurse. To undertake delegated duties related to patient care that contribute to their treatment plans. To support patients and their families with care and compassion at all stages of their procedure. To promote and uphold the privacy, dignity, rights, health and wellbeing of people accessing our services. To work in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and operate within the boundaries of the role and sphere of assessed competencies. To maintain standards of work and care through regular updates. Pilgrim Hospital is situated in beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service. Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services. Lincoln Hospital is a thriving university city and with the opening of the medical school, it provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service. United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust has been granted teaching hospital status, after demonstrating evidence to significant teaching commitment. From now on it will be known as United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
