The Integrated Support Unit (ISU) at HMP Durham is an 11 bedded Unit, which is a regional resource, staffed by a multidisciplinary team, with the aim of providing treatment for men with severe mental health needs. The unit is operated in partnership with the prison service and is designed to provide a therapeutic recovery focused environment. We have pathways with stakeholders and secure hospitals, to provide the individuals who require a service that delivers a seamless and integrated approach to their care. We believe treatment begins from our first contact, with a focus and pro-social engagement and trauma informed care. The Mental Health In Reach teams at all our local North East prisons can recommend that someone should work with us when a person has an acute and/or severe mental health disorder that requires an enhanced level of input from specialist mental health professionals which cannot be provided elsewhere within the prison. This includes people with a learning disability and/or Autism. Main duties of the job
