An exciting new role has been created within the nutrition support dietetic team at Royal Derby Hospital to support dietetic clinical leadership to the critical care service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian with experience working in critical care who is looking to expand their own skills in critical care dietetics and service development. As clinical lead you will work closely with dietetic and multi professional colleagues across the Trust to ensure high quality, evidence based care is provided to patients. You will also be able to expand research and audit work with the service and have the opportunity to lead transformation and improvement projects and influence our service delivery. You will be part of a team of nutrition support specialist dietitians and will be expected to provide clinical supervision to the wider dietetic department in the area of nutrition support. Main duties of the job

You will be part of a supportive dietetic leadership team, including other clinical lead dietitians and a dietetic team lead, as well as dietetic operational leads. Applicants must be able to demonstrate strong communication and leadership capabilities, as well as the ability to work autonomously to assess and manage a caseload of patients. You need to be resilient and able to manage and prioritise your clinical caseload whilst supporting the work and development of the team. The nutrition support team also provide clinical inpatient services to stroke/neuro and nutrition team (parenteral nutrition). There will be an expectation to provide cover for these services when required. The department is well established in facilitating the training of dietetic students, including apprentice dietitians, and the dietetic workforce are involved in delivering a variety of education and training programmes for other health care professionals across the Trust, relating to nutritional care. BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent Substantial recent post-registration dietetic experience in critical care Member of British Dietetic Association Management and Leadership training Experience & Knowledge

Able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of national issues in critical care medicine including national and international guidance Able to demonstrate expert skills in critical care dietetics, influencing multi-professional practice in this area. Extensive knowledge of clinical effectiveness and clinical evidence related to the application of critical care dietetics Extensive knowledge & application of professional ethics, notably working in a patient's best interest when there is a lack of capacity Previous experience of service development Skills and Ability

Able to demonstrate knowledge of medical diagnosis and surgical interventions within critical care Able to formulate best course of dietary treatment and other aspects of patient care Able to demonstrate understanding of service planning and the ability to identify areas for service improvement. Communication
