An exciting opportunity as the new Clinical Lead for Hospital flow has arisen. This is a key strategic and clinical position within the Trust with the aim of supporting safe and effective operation of the hospital site whilst ensuring patient safety. The post holder will report to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Rob Presland, and work closely with both the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Medical Officer.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work with both corporate and divisional clinical senior management teams and will make a significant contribution to the delivery of access and quality standards, ensuring patients are treated in a timely and efficient manner. Alongside this, they will need to encourage and develop engagement and integration with the whole medical workforce to ensure good flow within the hospital.

Job responsibilities

Provide medical clinical leadership into the operational patient flow team, working alongside the Associate Medical Directors and assigned senior responsible owners for transformation. Have the ability to work collaboratively with nursing & therapies staff, site team, operational and other colleagues. Help develop strategic and operational systems, processes and policies to standardise patient flow management. Work alongside colleagues to support the development of processes to prioritise safe discharge while aligning the concept of flow to high-quality care delivery with better outcomes for patients.
