An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 position within the Learning Disability Service at Eastfield Clinic in Scarborough. The post holder will work as part of the Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale multi-disciplinary Community Learning Disability Team, addressing and supporting the health, psychological, emotional, and behavioral needs of adults with a learning disability who often have complex physical and emotional health needs. The team is friendly, supportive, and value-driven, working in partnership with our service users, families, and carers to provide high-quality healthcare within the community. Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will have a genuine desire to improve the physical and mental health and well-being of adults with learning disabilities and behaviors that challenge. They will work as part of an MDT delivering high-quality secondary care and enhancing community services, working with individuals who require specialist interventions using trauma-informed care and a recovery-based approach. The successful candidate must be motivated, flexible, and able to communicate effectively. They will be expected to travel independently to various locations within the Scarborough, Whitby, and Ryedale area. Candidates must have 18 months of post-qualifying experience, including sign-off of an appropriate preceptorship or competency framework. Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that applicants can travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. The post holder will be enthusiastic and deliver a quality service, ensuring the individual is at the center of their care, fully involved in all aspects of assessment, planning, and care and treatment as appropriate, including being professionally and legally accountable. The service is looking for an experienced RNLD. You must be able to care coordinate and work well independently as well as part of a wider team. The team operates a Monday to Friday 9 am - 5 pm service. The successful candidate will manage a clinical caseload under the supervision of the Advanced Nurse Practitioner, providing assessment, treatment, advice, and support to clients, carers, and other professionals. Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council - RNMH or RNLD (RNSC - CAMHS only) - RGN (if appropriate) Evidence of Continuing Professional Development. Recognised Practice Supervisor and/or Practice Assessor, clinical educator, or equivalent. Must be achieved within 6 months. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing clinical supervision OR willingness to work towards within 6 months. Experience
18 months of post-qualifying experience, including sign-off of an appropriate preceptorship or competency framework. Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers. Providing clinical supervision to individuals or groups as professionally appropriate. Supervising or assessing students on practice placement. Working in a multi-disciplinary team. Quality improvement activities. Knowledge
Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g., Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act). Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice. Clinical Governance and its application in practice. Research and development methodology.
