Main duties of the job We'd like you to join us as a Clinical Lead (RN, RMN, RNLD) at our Woodlands Rehabilitation Service in York. Woodlands provides specialist Level 2 Neurological Rehabilitation and Neurobehavioral services for adults in York. We support patients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, severe neurological conditions, complex stroke, and spinal cord injury. We can undertake SMART assessments for patients in Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness (PDoC) and create bespoke treatment plans. Job responsibilities What you'll be working: We're flexible, so you'll work a total of 36 hours per week, on a rota basis. 36-hour shifts as per rota (hours supernumerary). What you'll be doing: To undertake clinical supervision to further develop competence and clinical practice. To act as a mentor/preceptor to students/support workers or health care assistants as appropriate. To supervise junior staff in carrying out their care plans. Ensure the effective supervision and development of staff. To take charge of a designated clinical area where applicable. To liaise effectively with all actively involved in the care process, including carers and relatives, aspiring to provide an effective, seamless, and integrated service to patients/residents. To maintain and update relevant knowledge and skills; maintain a professional portfolio and participate in further training as appropriate, in order to enhance the quality of care for patients/residents and carers. Plan, allocate, supervise, and evaluate working practices of the team on a shift-by-shift basis, ensuring high visibility of all staff at all times on the floor. To be responsible for timely discharge/transfer of patients by working closely with the Discharge Community Liaison Coordinator and ensuring all medications are available to ensure a safe discharge/transfer. Assist the Ward Manager in ensuring that regular reviews are held for each patient, in accordance with the placing authority’s wishes and/or according to the company’s policies and guidelines, chairing reviews as agreed or required. Assist the Ward Manager and wider MDT in ensuring that all patients participate in as wide a range of activities of their choice as possible and that all staff are aware of the range of in-house and other external facilities/activities and that appropriate records of participation are kept. To be an active participant in the multidisciplinary team, formulating care plans and utilizing appropriate assessments. What you'll have: A current NMC Pin registration.
