We currently have an exciting opportunity on the Children's Ward, Furness General Hospital for a substantive clinical leader position. The Children’s Ward is a busy mixed speciality unit providing care for a wide range of conditions. It comprises a 14 bed inpatient ward, 8 bed day care unit, and a 4 bed assessment unit. Main duties of the job
Have continuing responsibility for the delivery of care needs and maintenance of clinical standards rotating through CYP services for Inpatients, Day Care and Assessment Unit. Provide effective leadership and support to all grades of staff; planning and directing activities to provide optimal standards of care. Ensure that the ward/department is clean and provides a safe environment for children, parents and staff. Deputise for Senior Nurses when required. Undertake Directorate site based management responsibilities as required. Person specification
Education and qualifications
Registered Children’s Nurse Post basic qualification relevant to children’s nursing Teaching and assessing qualification 1st degree or willingness to undertake same Experience
Recent experience at senior staff nurse level within children’s nursing Evidence of clinical competence in a wide range of paediatric nursing skills Understanding of the setting and monitoring of standards Evidence of teaching and developing staff Recent leadership development or willingness to undertake course Skills
