TIC+ reaches hundreds of children and young people every year as well as offering support & advice to parents & professionals. We work to ensure that every young person has easy, prompt, independent access to appropriate support according to their needs. TIC+ has a home office in Mitcheldean Gloucestershire; counselling rooms and home-based staff and volunteers working across the county. We strive to ensure young people, parents and families feel accepted, safe & valued, so that they can say what's on their mind, and be really listened to without the fear of being judged. We work with young people to help them build resilience & give them strategies to cope with situations they might be facing. Job description Job responsibilities Quality of Services Ensure all TIC+ services delivered are evidence-based, high quality and informed by psychological knowledge. Ensure services are delivered in line with TIC+ Ethos and Values, including that they are accessible, equitable and inclusive, meeting the needs of vulnerable and minority groups. That children, young people and families are core to all clinical and service developments. Working with colleagues to ensure they are involved in the planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of all TIC+ services. Ensure the effective management of the referral, triage and allocation process, overseeing the evaluation and prioritisation of referrals to guarantee timely and appropriate access to clinical services. To promote, develop and report on the clinical use of Routine Outcome Measures. Using national and service level data to analyse the effectiveness of service delivery and develop plans for service improvement. Clinical Governance Responsible for implementing safeguarding policies, procedures and clinical risk management strategies. Ensure TIC+ safeguarding policies and procedures align with local Safeguarding Children Boards and national guidelines. Supporting staff team to be aware of, trained and adherent to clinical policies and procedures as part of induction and ongoing training and development. Lead internal Clinical Governance Meetings. Initiate and lead clinical audit and ensure relevant action plans are completed. Ensure services operate in line with: the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions government guidelines legal frameworks professional standards Advisor to the Head of Clinical Training ensuring course material aligns with best practices, latest theory, knowledge, and skills. Oversight and responsibility for TIC+ BACP agency accreditation. Supervision and Line Management Line management and clinical supervision of: Coordination and Safeguarding Team Lead Internal Supervisors Provide clinical supervision for the Eating Difficulties Service Lead To oversee the recruitment for the Assistant Psychologists within the organisation and provide them with monthly clinical supervision (if a qualified Psychologist). Oversight and development of TIC+ supervision model, ensuring the quality of internal and external supervision. To take the lead on developing reflective practice within the clinical area. Professional Practice To maintain a TIC+ caseload of specialised therapeutic work with children, young people and families, related to area of clinical expertise. To maintain registration with clinical professional body and act in accordance with the code of professional conduct. To ensure knowledge and skills are updated and to undertake any training needs identified for professional and service development. Strategic Leadership Work with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that agreed organisational objectives and goals are implemented. Clearly articulates the expected clinical standards of the service, monitors and identifies where standards are not met and takes action to address where necessary. Oversight of internal clinical pathways ensuring safe, efficient and timely allocation of young people to counsellors. Provide clinical support and clinical supervision for the development of standard operating procedures and the ongoing service delivery for referral, allocation, and triage. Proactively identifies, manages and minimises clinical risks and supports staff team to contribute to the process. Research Oversight and supervision of all clinical research projects undertaken by the charity. To include: Identifying research questions and appropriate methodologies to address these Ongoing supervision of projects, including advice around literature reviews, analysis and interpretation. Support in the dissemination of findings to appropriate journals. Ensuring consistent adherence to ethical guidelines governing the study of human participants, including accessing support externally when required. Supporting TIC+ to develop a research culture e.g. special interest groups, journal clubs. Collaborating with academic institutions to share expertise, including liaison with the BACP research team. System Wide Partnership Working Working in close collaboration with local system colleagues from Health, Education, Social Care, Safeguarding Board and the Voluntary Sector: To define the best approach to meet the mental health and emotional wellbeing needs of children, young people, parents and families. To ensure TIC+ resource and support the development of the multi-agency front door. To develop strong working relationships with colleagues from CAMHS Social Care and other key statutory and voluntary sector agencies. Deputising for the Chief Clinical Officer when required. Represent the team at designated meetings both locally and nationally. Personal accountability To participate in regular clinical supervision with an approved Clinical Supervisor To take part in own line management and performance review. Person Specification Ability Essential Demonstrate competency and confidence in the use of IT systems and software packages e.g. Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to enter data accurately, interpret data, present reports and compile presentations in a range of contexts Demonstrate experience of maintaining safe, accurate and confidential recording of information Able to represent the team and the counselling model in strategic spaces as well as to commissioners, funders, delivery partners and colleagues Desirable Ability to foster a research-oriented environment through initiatives like special interest groups and journal clubs. Skilled in building partnerships with academic and research institutions, including maintaining relationships with teams like BACPs research team. Qualifications Essential Degree (Level 7 and above) equivalent in Counselling/Psychotherapy or Clinical Psychologist or Counselling Psychologist qualification BACP registered (or equivalent relevant professional body) Senior clinician with at least three years experience and over 1000 clinical hours providing services to children and young people and young adults Desirable A recognised Clinical Supervision qualification level 5 or above Accredited member of BACP or other relevant/recognised counselling/psychotherapy body Personal Attributes Essential A passion for the mission of the charity to improve, preserve and promote good mental health and wellbeing among children, young people and families. Experience of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and clinical risk management in an organisational setting Expertise in the measurement of and communicating impact / outcomes to key stakeholders Experience of multi-agency working and a clear commitment to partnership working Experience of setting team and individual goals and coaching towards high performance and continuous improvement. Experience in designing and supervising clinical research projects, including formulating research questions and selecting appropriate methodologies. Proficiency in guiding literature reviews, data analysis, and interpretation of research findings.
