An exciting opportunity has arisen within the current Colorectal and Cancer Services nursing team at North Devon District Hospital. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic nurse to work as a Colorectal Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist. This new role within the team will aim to deliver high quality cancer nursing to Colorectal patients whilst on treatment.

Job responsibilities

The candidates will be fully supported and guided by the Cancer Matron and Colorectal Cancer Nurse Specialist (CNS) team, but will be expected to be able to manage their own caseload of patients. The post holder will work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team. The post holder will attend clinics with the Medical and Clinical Oncologists, attend MDT and support patients when they attend for treatment.

The individual will be competent and confident to undertake holistic needs assessments and respond to concerns of cancer patients and families. In addition, they will have the ability to give specialist nursing advice, teach on cancer education days, undertake audit and possess advanced communication skills.

Applications are invited for the above post from highly motivated and enthusiastic trained nurses. Candidates must be registered nurses with post-registration experience, preferably to include Oncology/Palliative Care.

The candidate should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be self-driven and also be able to work as part of a busy oncology team. You will be an integral part of the Colorectal MDT and undertake a lead role in the pathway for colorectal patients.

Working Pattern:

37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday
