The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be named key worker for patients and work with the team to ensure equity and accessibility supporting the best treatment for their individual diagnosis. They will offer holistic care that is provided by Kent Oncology Centre at MTW. The Lung Clinical Nurse Specialist will support the delivery of research studies across the Trust as required. They will also be responsible for their own caseload, and this role requires the professional to have the ability to work alone as well as in a team. You will work closely with and as part of a multi-disciplinary team which includes Oncologists, Surgeons, Therapeutic Radiographers, community colleagues, and administrative staff to ensure the delivery of a dynamic, seamless and compassionate service. You will support patients, their families, and supporters to maximise their quality of life from the point of diagnosis throughout their cancer pathway. Once your pre-employment checks have been completed, you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date, which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions. You will be expected to attend the Trust's 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs, and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions, and e-learning.
