Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic motivated person to join the Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPCT) at Bedfordshire Hospital Trust to assist in the delivery of safe and effective infection prevention and control service within the Trust.
We are looking to appoint a Band 7 registered nurse with experience in infection prevention and control, who has excellent communication skills and is used to using these skills to exercise tact and diplomacy while analysing situations and providing resolutions.
You will be joining a highly motivated and proactive team and will have an active role in developing, maintaining and sustaining all aspects of infection prevention and control service delivery within the Trust; working closely with the Head of Infection Prevention and Control and other team members.
This role will require individuals to be able to take part in a seven day working rota, in support of delivering a seven day infection prevention and control service.
In return, we can offer you a 4 week supernumerary period to enable a structured orientation programme and the support of the Infection Prevention and Control Team during your development.

Main Duties of the Job
Deputise for and manage the day to day running of core business functions in the absence of the Senior IPC CNS.
Together with all members of the Infection Control Team be responsible for the provision of advice, training and information to staff in the Trust.
Will have highly developed specialist knowledge and experience, in order to act as an expert advisor on all aspects of infection control.
Develop and implement education/training in infection control for all staff groups.
Develop and maintain a service in line with local and national strategies.
Support the development and implementation of a program across the Trust that will achieve prevention, surveillance, investigation and control of infection in line with national guidance for Infection Control.
Maintain close links with other Infection Control Nurses within the local health economy.
