About the Candidate You will be a qualified pharmacist with strong experience within primary care and have the following skills and qualifications: Completion of a degree in pharmacy and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council. Post-qualification experience in pharmacy (hospital, primary care, or community), or working towards obtaining this. Qualified independent prescriber, or working towards this. Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS). Awareness of the breadth of common acute and long-term conditions that are likely to be seen in a general medical practice. Ability to demonstrate general pharmaceutical skills and knowledge in core areas. About Us Walton Medical Practice is situated in the traditional seaside resort of Walton on the Naze, on the Essex Coast. We have a list size of just over 8300 patients. As well as 2 GP Partners and a salaried GP, the practice team includes a clinical pharmacy team of 2, a nursing team of 10, and an efficient and effective reception and administrative team of 18. We are part of The Colte Partnership, which is a GP super-partnership formed in June 2017. It brought together 8 local GP surgeries across Colchester and Tendring, serving approx. 80,000 patients. With the combined workforce, skills, and knowledge, we are in a unique position to assist our patients across the county. As well as general practice, we offer Extended Access appointments to enable all of our patients to access medical care in the evenings and weekends; we work collaboratively with external agencies to provide in-home services and Social Prescribing; we are working to be at the forefront of clinical research; and have many more exciting ventures on the horizon. We also work as a collaborative primary care network (PCN) which spans across Colchester and Tendring: Riverside Medical Centre & Ardleigh Surgery Mersea Island Medical Practice, Tiptree Medical Centre, and Rowhedge Medical Centre Walton Medical Centre, Colne Medical Centre, and Wivenhoe Medical Centre There is a wide socio-economic and demographic served within this area which will provide an interesting and varied case mix. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators. You will be well supported with ongoing professional development (training support, CPD, and peer support). The role will contribute to improving the quality of care for our patients across the network of practices.
