If the answer is yes, then this could be the opportunity you are looking for… Here at RCHT, the Anaesthetic, Critical Care and Theatres (ACCT) education team offer high-quality support for students and new starters with bespoke training sessions, working alongside colleagues in the clinical setting to enhance skills and competence and deliver mandatory training across the care group. The team is also involved in exciting projects and leads on clinical partnership modules to support safe and effective patient care and staff career development. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic practitioner to the post of Clinical Practice Educator for Theatres and Anaesthetics. The appointed candidate will work with the Lead Educator for the care group and other clinical managers within a friendly, flexible, and dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:

Coordination and support of all staff, preceptees, and new starters joining RCHT Theatres, Anaesthetics, and/or Recovery team. Coordination and support of all non-medical pre-registration students undergoing learning placements at RCHT. Work in coordination with the rest of the Practice Educator team to support and develop ongoing training for the Anaesthetic/Theatres / Recovery teams. Ensure training and development needs for registered and un-registered staff groups are reviewed, evaluated, and met. Provide classroom teaching for registered and unregistered staff. Provide clinical supervision/teaching within specialty setting for registered and unregistered staff. Provide education support and training for registered nurses/AHPs without prior clinical expertise in anaesthetics/theatres / recovery (including shadowing in clinical settings). Liaison with the relevant Higher Education Institute(s) to ensure that placement requirements are being met. Support and development of mentors in practice. Provision of clinically based education within specific acute ward areas supporting pre-registration students/ preceptees/ registered nurses and unregistered staff. Work with the wider ACCT education team to streamline and coordinate teaching sessions across the care group and trust. The individual may be required to perform clinical duties across Theatres when required by the care group / trust.
