Detailed job description and main responsibilities Liaise with the Lead Nurse for Theatres, Theatre Managers and Clinical Facilitators to identify the development and training needs of nursing/midwifery staff healthcare support workers within designated clinical areas according to individual needs and service requirements. Develop, implement and evaluate competency based training programmes and facilitate learning opportunities to meet the educational and skills development needs of nursing/ODP, healthcare support workers. Facilitate and support the development and implementation of preceptorship programmes for newly appointed staff. Participate in regular performance and personal development reviews and work to achieve agreed objectives. Promote research/evidence based practice and audit outcomes to inform clinical practice and set clinical standards. Instigate or contribute to research initiatives and clinical audit programmes as appropriate.
