to join our

CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Community Support Team

within the Children's Care Group. This team plays a critical role in delivering urgent and intensive mental health support to children and young people, contributing to local and national transformation initiatives aimed at increasing access to mental health services. About the Role As a Clinical Psychologist within the team, you will provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and interventions to young people experiencing acute mental health crises. The role offers the opportunity to work with children and young people presenting with a broad range of mental health and neurodiverse needs. You will also contribute to the development of care pathways that ensure timely and effective support, collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver integrated and person-centred care. Main duties of the job Key Responsibilities Deliver trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions, consultations, and psychological assessments. Provide psychological input to multi-agency risk management plans. Offer consultation, supervision, and training to colleagues and external agencies to promote psychological understanding. Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. About You We are looking for a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Clinical Psychologist with: Post-graduate training in Clinical Psychology (doctoral level or equivalent prior to 1996), accredited by the BPS. HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (or pending registration for 2024 graduates). Experience working with children, young people, and families, particularly in crisis or intensive support contexts. Excellent clinical skills and a passion for working with children and young people experiencing complex mental health challenges. A collaborative, team-oriented approach. Effective interpersonal and time management skills. Person Specification Qualifications and Experience Essential Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS. Working as an applied psychologist within the designated service including a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course and a range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings. Knowledge, training and experience in NICE guidance recommended interventions for treating mental health difficulties. Desirable Experience of working within primary & community mental health transformation within the NHS.
