If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join our North YJS, based in Chesterfield's modern Quad office.
The YJS works closely with statutory partners (police, education, health, social care, probation, the voluntary sector, and secure estate partners). You'll provide trauma-informed consultations to support young people indirectly via case managers. There's scope for some discrete direct work with young people and families/carers, including psychological and cognitive assessments and contributions to pre-sentence reports.
Other key responsibilities include attending case planning forums and risk panels, delivering training on autism spectrum disorder, learning issues, trauma, attachment, and adverse childhood experiences, and offering psychological formulations to guide care plans, and lead in multi-disciplinary/multi-agency meetings.
You'll have good links to our CAMHS Service (including clinical supervision) and there are good links to local CP Doctorate training programmes. We value diversity and offer flexible working arrangements.
Main duties of the job
Along with the support of the Youth Justice Service multi-disciplinary Team you will:
Provide psychological consultations to members of staff in the Youth Justice Service by using trauma-informed approaches. Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and specific time-limited interventions for children and young people. Provide regular teaching and training to members of the team. Empower and support young people on their journey. Offer clinical advice and support, supervision, and training for professionals in YJS & CAMHS, where appropriate. Be an active member of the multi-disciplinary service and contribute to team and service development.

Whilst the post is fully embedded within YJS, the post provider is CAMHS at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which offers a positively-rated internal training programme for staff and clinical supervision practice is highly valued.
You will work across our geographical area of North Derbyshire from the main YJS base, therefore a valid driving licence would be required.
