This is an excellent development opportunity for a professional registered person with proven leadership and management experience within mental health services.

This role will offer you a challenging but rewarding environment, with involvement in our improvement and transformation programme of work which includes inpatient, intensive community outreach and specialist eating disorder services.

Main duties of the job

Your responsibilities will include co-ordinating, delivering and maintaining a high standard of day to day clinical care, providing support to our broader Inpatient and other regional specialist services including unscheduled care and offering strong clinical leadership to our team.

Additionally, you'll maintain positive relationships within NWAS and CAMHS community services.

NWAS participate in the Royal College of Psychiatry QNIC accreditation programme and the report from the last review stated 'One of the main strengths of the NWAS team is the high morale amongst staff and good working relationships'.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications

Essential

NMC Registered nurse or other appropriate clinical profession with qualifications appropriate to the service area managed. Continued professional and management development. Relevant MSc or knowledge equivalent to Masters level in management or willing to work towards.

Desirable

Evidence of mentoring. Assessing and/or teaching. Management qualification. Mental Health Measure.

Experience

Essential

Significant management experience at Band 7 or above. Relevant clinical experience. Child Protection/safeguarding. Service and/or policy development.

Desirable

Evidence of financial management. Evidence of audit skills.

Skills

Essential

Leadership. Ability to prioritise work to tight deadlines. Strategic thinker. Effective communication at all levels and with other agencies and general public. Developed interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate in a variety of media. Time management. Problem solving and analysis of data. Team working. IT skills - ECDL or equivalent.

Desirable

Presentation skills.

Knowledge

Essential

Familiar with Clinical Governance/risk management/patient safety. Clinically up to date. Management of change. Child protection/safeguarding.
