Main duties of the job You will be expected to work on AMU and show a commitment to developing yourself and others within the team.

You will be required to attend and complete mandatory training online and face to face.

In addition to this, the department offers a comprehensive induction programme and role specific training.

Job responsibilities

Prompt assessment of adult patients.

Planning and delivery of nursing care that reflects current patient care needs.

Evaluation of care in collaboration with patients/carers and multidisciplinary team.

Involved in the care of critically unwell patients.

Accurate documentation of nursing care delivered.

Be a safe practitioner aware of own limitations and reporting any areas of concern to a more senior nurse.

Work effectively as part of a team.

Awareness of and co-operating in maintaining high standards of care in a busy environment.

Participate in teaching/training of more junior staff.

Follow policy and procedure accurately for Safeguarding adults.

Ongoing development of skills and knowledge to become a competent senior member of the team.

To use all electronic systems as per departmental policy.

To appropriately escalate to senior managers.

To participate in all training and ensure compliance is high.

To act within the medicines management trust policy.

Person Specification Experience

Experience of working in a Care environment.

Experience of working in a Hospital Environment.

Experience of Venepuncture.

ECG Recording.

AMU experience.

Statutory Registration

NMC.

Qualifications

Nursing degree or working towards.

Able to demonstrate a good secondary education.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year pro rata per annum.
