South Durham and Darlington Liaison Psychiatry team are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and confident professional to take an exciting opportunity of becoming a Clinical Specialist Nurse within our diverse and friendly team. We are based at Darlington Memorial Hospital; the successful candidate will be expected to travel independently. In this role, you will offer clinical leadership support to colleagues, participate in service development, co-ordination of the assessment, treatment, and management of older people accessing the service. The Clinical Specialist Nurse will offer advice and consultation regarding the management of the client group to colleagues within the team and other agencies, as necessary. An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nurse who holds a Non-Medical Prescriber qualification. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment and provide clinical leadership within the team, working alongside the Team Manager to support team members. The post holder will be part of a resilient and professional team working collaboratively with internal and external partners to support the needs of those who are experiencing a deterioration in their mental health and their family/carer needs. The team takes a recovery-oriented, formulation-driven approach, which values shared decision-making. Strong team working is essential, requiring networking with a variety of people, as well as working in partnership with a range of different agencies both internal and external to the team. You will be able to demonstrate strong clinical leadership, coaching skills, excellent knowledge of mental health care, complex risk assessment, safeguarding, and its application to practice. Qualifications
Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years. Within the first year of being in post hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy/NMP (Independent Prescriber) Have equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level such as working as a band 6 (or above) in a relevant clinical area with significant experience (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD. Skills
Extensive knowledge of normal child and adolescent development, child and adolescent mental health disorders, and knowledge of specialist therapeutic interventions within the CAMHS specialty and Child Protection Procedure/Policy. Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills which are clearly demonstrated. Good organisational and time management skills. Community Transformation Framework or iThrive Framework and its application in practice. Research methodology or within agreed timescale. Developing practice standards. Inter-agency and partnership working. Demonstrate clinical history taking and assessment skills in order to provide nurse-led diagnosis and treatment planning. Demonstrate leadership qualities and motivational skills. Demonstrate effective communication, organisational, and administrative skills. Write reports. Use multimedia materials for presentations in professional settings. Use approved techniques in physical intervention if required in appropriate clinical area. Demonstrate recovery-focused practice. Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field. Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours.
