An exciting secondment/fixed term opportunity has arisen within the York and Selby Adult Community Learning Disability team for a competent, confident and enthusiastic Clinical Specialist Nurse to cover a 12 month period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously in a fast paced environment and provide clinical leadership within the team working alongside the Team Manager utilising skills to support team members, while maintaining the offer of nursing assessment and intervention within a defined caseload. The post holder will be part of a resilient and professional team working collaboratively with internal and external partners to support the needs of individuals with a diagnosed learning disability and their family/carer needs. The team is friendly, professional, and innovative, with a common interest in living the trust values to enhance the quality of life and emotional wellbeing of adults with learning disabilities. Coproduction and collaboration are key drivers of the team's work ethic. Strong team working is essential, requiring networking with a variety of people, as well as working in partnership with a range of different agencies both internal and external to the team. Leading on professional development and ensuring the delivery of robust evidence based practice. Ensuring high professional standards of nursing practice in accordance with the NMC code of Conduct. Providing nurse led diagnosis and treatment planning. Undertaking ongoing audit of care and service delivery, underpinned by research and evidence-based practice. Supporting the ward or team manager and other senior clinical staff in establishing and maintaining high standards and continual improvement within the established governance framework. Participating in clinical/professional and management supervision. Contributing to multi-disciplinary team working. Using the System One electronic patient record system. Abiding by all Trust policies and procedures. Responding flexibly and creatively to challenges. About us

Qualifications
Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only). Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving. Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving. Postgraduate diploma in a subject relevant to the area or be willing to work towards and achieve within 2 years. Within the first year of being in post, hold a recognised qualification in a governed therapy/advanced clinical qualification e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy/NMP (Independent Prescriber). Equivalent clinical experience to that of a Post Grad Diploma/master's level, such as working as a band 6 (or above) in a relevant clinical area with significant experience (see below under experience), together with evidence of relevant CPD. Knowledge
Extensive knowledge of current issues relating to health needs of patients in the field of practice, regionally and nationally. Understanding and working knowledge of the legal framework and statutory obligations under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act. Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice. Clinical Governance and its application in practice. Working knowledge of clinical medicines management. Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment (depending on specialist area).
