Assist, coordinate and participate in the provision of various clinics including phlebotomy, ECG, audiometry, ear care, basic wound care, basic foot and nail care, etc. Undertake and record clinical observations as directed by a registered professional. Participate in the provision of phlebotomy and coordination of requests from all departments/disciplines, after appropriate training has been completed. Maintain good order and cleanliness in the department and assist in preparation and delivery of physical health care clinics. Facilitate the monitoring and maintenance of supplies of materials and equipment within the care environment. Assist in the treatment for the patient within the in-patient environment. Maintain accurate, timely and relevant clinical records both written and computerized. Maintain the safe custody of healthcare records. Treat patients as individuals and enable them to achieve maximum independence. Undertake any other duties that would be a reasonable expectation of the role. About us

Direct care of patients attending the Physical Healthcare Centre or in the ward environment to carry out clinical interventions. Act as a contact for internal and external stakeholders. Provide and receive routine information which requires tact or persuasive skills or where there are barriers to understanding. Maintain a professional therapeutic relationship with patients, using tact, persuasive and reassurance skills, and where barriers to understanding exist, adopt alternative methods to help overcome these barriers. Monitor and manage the hospital high dose antipsychotic drug monitoring schedule, ensuring all patients are offered blood tests and ECG within a pre-agreed time scale, escalating any concerns to the nurse in charge of the shift or GPs. Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change.
