This is an exciting opportunity to lead Specialist Stroke & Neurology teams across Derbyshire & be an integral part of the continued development of the Service.

We are looking for a committed leader to lead teams based across Amber Valley, Erewash, South Derbyshire, Dales and High Peak.

We are looking for a Physiotherapist or an OT with a clinical background in stroke and/or neurology to bring clinical credibility to their leadership. Previous experience in leading teams is helpful but not essential if you can show the drive, skills and enthusiasm to lead. You would be working with experienced colleagues & be part of a friendly and supportive service. We will support you in enhancing or developing the skills to lead.

It is an interesting time to join our team we are integral to Derbyshire wide stroke pathway developments. For this we will need vision, commitment and strength in leadership.

Main duties of the job

The position is for a Clinical Team Lead for the Stroke- Neuro Service, the base is advertised as Ripley Hospital but this is indicative and an appropriate base for the successful candidate will be agreed.

As a Clinical Team Lead, you will be required:

To be responsible for the provision of high quality and effective clinical services. To have responsibility to efficiently manage these services within the overall budget held by the Clinical Service Manager and General Manager. To lead and provide line management to staff providing services to patients. To manage staff according to the policy and good practice of DCHS. To identify and manage risks. To ensure the service is delivered according to the commissioned quality and productivity specification.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential BSc Degree /MSc or Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy (or equivalent) Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration Relevant Postgraduate Training

Desirable Leadership/management training / qualification Relevant MSc level training

Experience and Knowledge

Essential Evidence of clinical expertise in stroke and/or neurology Experience working as a senior clinician Clinical education and supervision of less experienced clinicians Experience of clinical audit and service evaluation Experience of Service Development Understanding of clinical governance and Risk and the implications for services

Desirable Experience of leading team

Skills

Essential Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to meet the challenges of barriers to effective communication. Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences. Ability to organise and prioritise own and other's workload Ability to delegate effectively and appropriately Coaching and motivational skills
