Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 7 Nurse to join the Specialist Perinatal Community Mental Health Team in Suffolk. We are looking to appoint a Band 7 Clinical Team Manager (p/t 22.5 hrs).

As an integral part of the leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting your manager in ensuring that our service users' needs are met through the delivery of high-quality care.

The team is committed to keeping the family at the centre of care and normalising the experience of pregnancy and being a mum. We have a philosophy of early intervention and ensure that we capture the babies' voice in the work that we do.

Our aim is to reduce barriers to access services and aim to empower and build confidence for mums to be the best mothers they can be and enhance their experience of being a mother.

Our Multi-disciplinary team is made up of Nursery Nurses, Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Parent/Infant therapists, and peer workers. The team works in a variety of environments and alongside our Acute trust colleagues and the voluntary and charity sector. We are committed to inclusion and equality within the service.

You will receive regular supervision, be involved in reflective practice, and there will be opportunities to be involved in continuous practice development.

Main Duties of the Job

We are looking to appoint a Band 7 Nurse to our Community Perinatal Mental Health Nurses (Band 7).

You will be joining the service at a very exciting time and will play a key role in helping the service to deliver on the NHS long-term. Ideally, the post would suit somebody with experience of perinatal mental health and/or working with families, although we would welcome interest from staff with experience in other areas who can demonstrate that they share our passion and values. There will be developmental opportunities and comprehensive induction for the successful candidates.

The post holder, together with the clinical leads, will be expected to provide strong clinical leadership and expertise in the MDT to ensure effective care and clinical governance, as well as supporting staff through supervision.

As part of the role, you will be expected to maintain existing and build strong links with both primary and secondary care.

You will also be expected to hold a small caseload.

The team operates across Suffolk, and we work from patients' own homes, community hubs, as well as having identified bases in both West Suffolk (West Suffolk Hospital) and Ipswich (Grange Lodge, Kesgrave, Ipswich).

If you are interested or would like to discuss these opportunities, please contact Kevin Moran (Deputy Service Manager) on 01284 719704 or Mob 07785 716513.
