We are seeking a suitably qualified Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/Psychotherapist to join the Primary and Community Mental Health Team. The role will work into the Universities Primary Care Network, making this an exciting post for anyone who is interested in working with a large student population.
This post will join a large team of supportive professionals alongside a well-established group of clinical psychologists, psychotherapists and clinical associate psychologists.
The role includes clinical work with people living with complex emotional needs and complex trauma, working towards delivering services closer to people's homes. You will deliver one-to-one client work and will have the chance to support the development and delivery of group work in the service. The role may also involve team working, facilitating team formulation sessions, and supporting MDT discussions to inform client care. The service has invested in new roles and the postholder would have opportunities for clinical supervision and consultation to primary care colleagues.
This is an exciting time for Mental Health Services in Sheffield, and this is a great chance to deliver needs-led, yet evidence-based services in people's communities.
Main duties of the job
To deliver psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions in-line with evidence-based practice, though keeping client need at the heart of the work. To take sole professional responsibility and exercise autonomous professional and clinical judgement within the overall framework of Trust, HCPC/BPS/BABCP/RCN or other accrediting organisation as appropriate and other policies/guidelines/standards. To provide supervision if appropriate to Clinical Associate Psychologists, and less experienced psychologists. To link in with other organisations and services to ensure holistic and joined up care for service users. To input into mini-team triage meetings. To input into MDT meetings, and link in with GP colleagues. To support team formulation. To support the development of group work, if appropriate. In common with all Clinical Psychologists/Psychotherapists, to receive regular clinical supervision in accordance with good practice. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the team.
