The role is for a creative and innovative clinical psychologist who is passionate about working with young adults (aged 18-25) who often fall through the gaps. The role involves working with young people, professionals, and teams to improve their experiences of the transition between CAMHS and AMHS. You will be part of a newly developed service embedded in the Adult Community Mental Health Teams. You will be interfacing with teams across all of the CAMHS and AMHS, building trusted and therapeutic relationships.

Main duties of the job
Your main role as a Clinical Psychologist in the Haringey Transitions Pathway is to: Work as part of a team and network dedicated to the planning and support of young adults aged 18-25. Develop transition plans with and for young people (and their family and caring systems). Draw on a wide range of psychological approaches such as AMBIT, THRIVE, and Community Psychology approaches to service design. This will include recognition and understanding of the impact of race, religion, age, disability, gender, class, culture, ethnicity, and sexual orientation on individuals, families, or groups. Support the sharing of knowledge about working with young adults at all levels of the system. Co-produce and deliver group and community-based interventions with young people experiencing mental health difficulties. Supervise Peer Workers and Community Engagement Practitioners. Work with the team to co-design the pathway with young people and families, including working with the Youth Board in Haringey. Work at the interface with teams from CAMHS and AMHS to ensure that young people have transition plans and their needs are met as they transition to adulthood. About us

Job responsibilities
To provide highly specialist psychological and systemic assessments of clients aged 18-25 years transitioning to Adult Mental Health Services (AMHS), drawing on a range of specialist clinical skills, theory, and models.
The delivery of care and treatment will be agile and flexible, designed to meet the specific needs of young adults transitioning to AMHS. The postholder will work in community settings and in partnership with other organizations in young people's networks. They will also be part of the continued design of this offer in Haringey.
Formulate plans for the formal mental health (individual and family-based) treatment and/or management of a young person's (and their family and caring systems) mental health problems based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of their problems and needs, drawing on a wide range of psychological approaches such as AMBIT, THRIVE, and Community Psychology approaches to service design. This will include recognition and understanding of the impact of race, religion, age, disability, gender, class, culture, ethnicity, and sexual orientation on individuals, families, or groups. Co-ordinate mental health care packages appropriate for the client's needs, including the work of others involved with the client's care, arranging meetings as appropriate and ensuring effective communication between agencies, colleagues, children, young people, their parents, and/or carers. Undertake highly complex clinical assessments, including the application of neuropsychological considerations impacting on development and ability, and provide written reports to assist others in decision making as well as to inform diagnosis and treatment plans. This is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities, and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties which fall within the grade of the job, in discussion with the manager.

Essential
Doctoral level training or equivalent in Clinical Psychology, specifically including models of psychopathology, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS. Registration with the Health Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist. Desirable
Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, and/or other fields of applied psychology. EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

Experience of working in the NHS undertaking specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care, and inpatient settings. Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity. Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design, and complex, multivariate data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of psychology. Desirable
