Permanent We are looking to recruit a Cloud Architect for a leading technology Consultancy. The Cloud Architect will design and deliver cutting-edge hosting and service solutions for its public sector clients. With a focus on service transition-transforming solutions into fully operational services-this role offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects in high-trust environments, driving innovation in cloud architecture and service delivery. This is a hybrid role and you will be expected to work on site approximately 1 day a week, with travel to customer site as and when required. The Role As a Cloud Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and owning hosting, application, data, and infrastructure solutions across cloud (single and multi-vendor), hybrid, and on-premise environments. You will lead the development of service architectures and frameworks that transition bespoke solutions into scalable, operational services tailored to client needs. Your responsibilities include: Leading the development of service architectures, ensuring alignment with client objectives and operational requirements. Designing scalable, cost-effective hosting solutions and service delivery frameworks. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure successful solution implementation and service transition. Defining operational processes and controls for managing services effectively. Providing technical leadership during solution reviews to ensure alignment with client and regulatory standards. Supporting pre-sales activities, including technical proposals, cost modeling, and client presentations. Identifying and evaluating emerging technologies to shape future offerings. Key Skills and Experience Expertise in designing on-prem, hybrid, single cloud, and multi-cloud architectures using Azure and AWS. Proven experience implementing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions. Strong understanding of distributed architectures and integrating COTS applications with cloud-native services. Familiarity with modern architectures such as data streaming, real-time processing, analytics, machine learning, and data lakehouses. Experience in transitioning solutions into operational services, including defining processes and controls. Service Transition and Leadership: Proven experience in transforming solutions into scalable, operational services. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience presenting to Technical Design Authority forums and securing stakeholder approval. Demonstrable success in leading large-scale transformation projects and pre-sales solution development. Experience working with Defence or Central Government clients is highly desirable. Seniority level
