Regular Software Engineer – AWS Java Migration – FTC [UK]

We are looking for an experienced

Regular Software Engineer

to join us working with our media client. This engagement focuses on collaborating with a team of engineers working to rework a content management product by removing reliance on an expensive proprietary component. The role will involve working closely with the team on key tasks like scoping out new functionality, reviewing the work completed, and conducting thorough testing to ensure quality. The aim is to streamline the product for greater efficiency and cost savings, which will require a detailed understanding of both the current system and the planned improvements. With an approaching deadline, the team is ramping up its development pace, and this role will be crucial in increasing throughput without sacrificing quality. Close collaboration and effective communication will be essential to keep the team aligned and ensure any issues are addressed quickly. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to evolving project requirements will be important, as the team works toward delivering a refined, high-quality product on time. Location

London Hybrid – up to 2 days a week in the office on a Thursday Eligibility to work in the UK Essential Key Skills and Responsibilities

You will: Have expertise in Java Have the ability to collaborate in standups Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Strong AWS knowledge: S3, EC2, SQS/SNS Have professional experience of working in projects using Agile Scrum/Kanban development processes Have knowledge of MarkLogic, Cucumber – JVM, MongoDB, XQuery Lambda Have a strong willingness to learn and be a keen team player Experience

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work-based experience. Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects. Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies. Experience with providing coaching and mentoring. Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios. Knowledge of software development tools and technologies. You are flexible and curious in your approach. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Additional Information
