We are now recruiting for an After School Club Playwork Childcare Assistant at our club at The Heights Primary School in Caversham (RG4). The role As an After School Club Playwork Assistant, you will assist the After School Club Manager alongside other Assistants in the safe and organised running of the club while actively supporting and engaging children aged 4-11. Responsibilities Assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the After School Club. Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and encourage children to participate. Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of 'snack time.' Maintain sensitivity for children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary). Develop strong relationships with children ensuring they have FUN at the club. Understand relevant Ofsted standards & KOOSA Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding. Ensure all activity areas are clean and tidy at the end of each day. Skills & Experience Passion for working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting. Fun and energetic nature. Reliable and able to communicate effectively with colleagues and children. Ability to relate and engage with children aged 4 - 11 years. Opportunities for qualifications and growth available for suitable candidates. Full training and inductions will be provided. This role would suit someone with experience in a Primary School, Pre-School or Nursery, e.g., a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, or someone looking to enter the childcare industry. Hours Monday - Friday, 2.50pm - 6.00pm, term-time only.
