Experienced and dynamic CNC Applications Engineer required to join a precision engineering company based in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise to customers and internal teams alike to implement, configure, and troubleshoot multi axis CNC turning machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of CNC machining processes, programming multi axis CNC turning machinery both online and offline to provide troubleshooting techniques, ensuring optimal operation of CNC machinery and related systems.

Key Role Requirements will include:

Provide pre-sales and post-sales support for multi axis CNC turning applications, including programming, machine setup, and operation. Collaborate with sales teams to offer technical advice, demonstrations, and product recommendations tailored to customer needs. Assist customers in developing and optimising multi axis CNC turning machining processes for improved efficiency, precision, and quality. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to multi axis CNC turning machines, software, and programming (online and offline). Conduct training sessions for customers and internal staff on CNC machine operation, software, and applications. Develop, test, and implement customised CNC turning solutions for customer-specific applications. Work closely with product engineers to relay customer feedback and help refine product designs. Document technical issues and solutions in knowledge bases and manuals for future reference. Assist with the setup and maintenance of CNC systems during installations and upgrades. Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices related to CNC machining.

Essential Knowledge, Experience and Candidate Attributes required:

Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience with multi axis CNC machine tools (turning) and CNC programming (e.g. G-code, conversational programming). Minimum of a HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related Engineering discipline. Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360. Strong knowledge of CNC machine setup, tooling, and workholding. Experience with machine control systems, such as Fanuc, Siemens, Heidenhain, or similar. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically and innovatively to solve technical problems. Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong customer-facing skills, with experience in customer service or technical support. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Beneficial Qualifications:
