The Company:

A Coventry based, world class precision manufacturer in the automotive industry. The company prides itself on staff retention and has seen year on year growth.

As a result, they are recruiting for a new permanent position in their CNC Miller section.

Role & Responsibilities:

To manage a small team of CNC millers within the milling section. Effectively manage people, machines, and workflow:

To effectively organise and manage a small team of CNC Millers in the Milling section. Oversee the running of machines and workflow to ensure that production plans are achieved, and customer requirements satisfied. To ensure that daily, weekly and monthly production targets are achieved across the Cell - as measured by Schedule Adherence and other KPIs. To maintain a Safe, Clean and Organised (6S) working environment by ensuring that all health, safety and 6S practices; policies and procedures are understood and adhered to. Identify and resolve quality issues using daily scrap walks and root cause analysis in order to reduce scrap, non-conformance and rework. Work closely with Production Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure optimal running of manufacturing processes and equipment. Recruitment and training of team members, ensuring that team members are trained to a defined standard and are competent to perform their duties at both quality and output standards as identified by the skills matrix for each operator. Manage holidays; time keeping; grievances and discipline across the team (with support from HR) to ensure that manpower is always in place to deliver the production plan.

The Candidate:

'Hands-on' working cell leader role - candidate must be able to programme, set, operate and troubleshoot each process within the cell. Must have Mazatrol experience. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. Supervisory experience essential and be a confident people leader. Comfortable running 2-3 machines across milling setting and operating.
