General Machinist
Contract Duration: 12 months
Shifts: Rotating (Earlies, Afternoons, Nights)
Salary: 24.83 per hour (PAYE), equivalent to 47,775 per annum
Location: Derby
We are seeking skilled General Machinists for a 12-month contract at a prestigious facility in Derby. This role requires working a rotating shift pattern, totalling 37 hours per week, across early, late, and night shifts.
Day-to-day of the role:
Operate various machining equipment, adhering to technical instructions and program manuals to ensure high-quality output across different components and product families.
Utilise inspection equipment such as machine probing, micrometres, and plug gauges to maintain quality standards.
Interpret manufacturing and customer drawings as well as written specifications to accurately produce components.
Assess the quality of components produced to ensure they meet the required standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Completion of an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship and possession of an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Experience with Siemens control systems is preferred.
Proficiency in 3 and 5-axis grinding, milling, and turning.
Previous experience working with aerospace components is advantageous.
Demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
