CNC Machinist
Salary: £16 - £18 per hour
Location: Eye, Suffolk
Compass Point Recruitment is seeking a motivated and experienced CNC Machinist to manage the day-to-day operations of a machine shop for a specialist engineering company in the food manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to estimate time and materials, and a solid background in CNC machining, engineering, or manufacturing. This position offers a Monday-to-Friday office-based schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and program multi-axis machining centres Perform complete multi-tool setups Conduct manual checks of components Ensure compliance with technical documentation Perform milling and turning work to a high standard Prioritize jobs based on business needs and delivery deadlines Candidate Requirements:
3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/engineering setting as a CNC setter/operator/programmer Proficiency in Fanuc programming and general knowledge of G & M codes Ability to read technical drawings and deliver work to specifications Experience with lathe and milling machines Experience with the following machines is highly desirable: HAAS VM3 HAAS ST35Y (with live tools and bar feeder) Colchester Harrison Tryax Mill XYZ Manual Mill If you have the required experience and a passion for CNC machining within the manufacturing and engineering industry, we'd love to hear from you.
