My client based in Leighton Buzzard is looking for a
CNC Turner
to join their busy team due to expansion.
Are you an experienced CNC Turner looking to work for a more established local manufacturing business? Do you have a passion for precision engineering, an excellent understanding of the turning process, and can work to tight tolerances and surface finishes?
My client is a long-established business that specializes in the manufacture of low volume, high quality, tubular and threaded components for various sectors including Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and Defense industries. Due to continuous expansion, they are actively hiring for an experienced CNC Turner as they are looking to expand their engineering team.
Experience Required
Proven time served experience in programming, setting, and operating 2 axis turning machines. Ability to write new CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision. Editing prewritten programs, the full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, and feeds. Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment. Producing one off, as well as low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals. Excellent working knowledge of 2 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances. Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards. Experience of Fanuc controls would be advantageous. Strong working history within the manufacturing industry in a machine shop environment. Hands-on, quality driven, positive, self-motivated manner to be able to hit the ground running. Confident in working on parts up to ¢300mm x 3m in length, using lifting equipment provided as some of our work can be large. Hoist training will also be provided.
Package and Benefits:
Salary depending on experience. (Late shift will have a premium of time plus a third) The position is full-time and permanent, and an immediate start is available. Day Shift Hours are Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 2.30pm. Late Shift Hours are Monday - Wednesday 4.30pm - 3.30am, Thursday 4.30pm - 1.30am. Holidays are 20 days + 8 Bank Holidays + extra Bonus holiday days over the Christmas Period. Government Pension Scheme. Health Care Scheme. Excellent working conditions. Free Onsite Parking.
